For 16 years I ran a photography business built almost entirely through social media.

Personal branding wasn’t talked about in the same way it is today but looking back I was doing it without even realising. 

My clients were families expecting a baby. They needed to know and trust the person who would be holding the most precious thing in their world.

So, I showed up.

My face was part of my content. I shared behind the scenes, what happened during a session, why I worked the way I did, and what mattered to me as a photographer.

People didn’t just connect with my work. They connected with me.

And that trust brought clients back again and again. 

But it wasn’t always easy.

I’ve experienced the overwhelm, the confusion, and the pressure to keep up.

There were times I questioned what to post, whether I was doing enough, and how to balance marketing my business alongside running it, while having a young family.

But I also learned what made people stop, connect, and trust a business online. And it wasn’t posting more.

It was showing up consistently as myself.
